HOME OF THE THEATER ARTS GUILD From 1949

It is appropriate that this historical building is TAG's home.  Built as a USO during World War 11, the site served the community well. Later the facility became the Community Center.  Thereafter, there began a chronology of theatrical events. TAG-- formerly named Desert Theater Arts and Music Guild--staged "Waltz Dream" in 1949.

Until 1977 the group produced as many as three musical productions annually. After a reorganization,  local theater activists revitalized the group, producing Ayn Rand's "The Night of  January 16th" in 1983. Soon after, with incorporation, the name was abbreviated, and the present day Theater Arts Guild became a local entity.  TAG has evolved and now produces as many as five (5) shows each season.
